The questions we hear most about hiring the excavator, mower and generator — pricing, delivery, the Damage Waiver, cancellations and more. Looking for something specific to one machine — like gate clearance, slope handling, or running the generator during an outage? Check that item's own page.
This is dry hire — you operate the equipment yourself, and no operator ticket is required for our machines. You'll need a driver's licence for identity verification, to be over 21, and to complete the safety familiarisation we run at handover before the machine is signed over. Drivers under 25, or who've held their licence under 2 years, may face a higher damage excess if the Damage Waiver is taken and damage occurs — see the Damage Waiver question below for the exact figures.
We run a proper handover: identity check, condition photos of the machine, a fuel and hour-meter reading, and a hands-on safety walkthrough you sign off. You'll get an email summary with the photos — so both sides have a clear record from minute one.
Every hire arrives fuelled on our own trailer, with delivery, collection and the handover included at no extra cost. The exact items included with your machine are listed on its own page, so you can see what comes with it before you book. Optional paid add-ons (extra buckets, leads, fuel jerries) are listed there too.
Every hire arrives with a full tank on our own trailer. Return it as-is when the job's done — we handle the wash-down and the refuel ourselves, with no cleaning or turnaround fees. The one exception is contamination — for example asbestos, chemicals or other hazardous material — which is the customer's responsibility and is charged.
Hires come in fixed blocks — Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), Work Week (Monday to Friday), or a Custom period of 7 or more days — with the exact price shown live on each item's page before you book. The mower can also be booked day-by-day (2 or more days) at a flat daily rate, and the excavator offers a Flexible Start option that can begin on any day.
You can book any dates within the next 60 days, with a minimum 2 days' notice before delivery. Need something sooner than that? Send an emergency rental request from the item's page and we'll call you — urgent hires run at a higher rate with payment on delivery.
Most hires need no deposit. One can apply if you're a first-time customer booking longer than 7 days, or on any hire longer than 30 days — selecting the Damage Waiver removes it entirely. When a deposit does apply, the exact amount is shown before you pay, and it's returned once the equipment is collected.
Reschedule free any time more than 48h before drop-off. If you cancel, we refund 80% with more than 72h notice, 50% at 72–48h, and nothing inside 48h. Both are self-service from your account — no phone call needed.
Tell us from your account that you're ready for early pickup. Finish early? We refund 50% of the daily rate for every complete unused 24-hour day when we collect ahead of schedule. This only applies where we agree to the early collection, and the refund is calculated and confirmed after we've collected.
Join the waitlist for the dates you want — if a cancellation or reschedule frees them up, you're emailed automatically.
Yes — you can hire for a Weekend (Saturday and Sunday), a Work Week (Monday to Friday), or a Custom period of 7 or more days if you need it longer.
Delivery and collection are free across all 68 serviced suburbs — spanning the Perth Hills, the foothills through to Midland, and the Swan Valley. Your address is checked at checkout.
On hires longer than 7 days, report whole rained-out days and claim back 50% of the daily rate for each — up to half your hire's scheduled days, rounded down. The refund is automatic. Report a same-day stand-down before 9:00am on the day the equipment won't be used.
First-time customers get an automatic discount and a free Damage Waiver at checkout, and ABN holders get an automatic trade discount — no codes needed.
For around 10% of your hire cost, the optional Damage Waiver reduces your liability for accidental physical damage to the equipment to a reduced excess, with each item's exact rate shown before you pay. It doesn't cover theft or non-return, transit (including loading and unloading), tyres, tracks, glass or attachments, injury or damage to third parties, misuse or overloading, or a breach of the Terms of Hire. It is not insurance and does not replace your own insurance obligation. The insurance policy provider's terms prevail over the exclusions listed on the website or in the Hire Terms; full insurer policy details can be provided on request.
Yes — you're required to hold insurance covering the equipment and your public liability for the length of the hire. The optional Damage Waiver reduces your liability for accidental damage to the equipment, but it is not insurance and doesn't cover public liability.
Equipment isn't returned on time? Equipment returned late is charged at 2× the Daily Rate for each additional 24-hour period (or part), plus reasonable recovery costs.
Please make sure someone's available at the agreed time. If you're not available at the agreed delivery or collection time, a $50 failed-attendance fee applies per attempt, plus any re-delivery cost.
Some hires carry Special Conditions — written terms specific to your equipment or add-ons, for example an approved use or a required safety step. Where they apply, they prevail over the general Terms of Hire and are shown at checkout before you pay. Your Hire Schedule prints "None" when none apply.
Only hire fees and charges you've agreed to, plus any assessed amount — like damage excess or an overage charge — which we only charge after giving you seven days' itemised written notice, unless you've already agreed to it. You can dispute any charge, and anything charged improperly is refunded.
Every machine carries a GPS tracking unit used for location, security and usage monitoring — see our Privacy Policy for how that data is handled. We disclose this before you book, not only at checkout.
